Gala Bingo Friends Hosts 100th Birthday Celebration

The Gala Bingo in Harrow, saw 100 year old Muriel Walton spending her centenary with friends. She was a little disappointed when she received her birthday congratulations card from the Queen though, as she shook the envelope like a teenager expecting cash, she said she would have “much rather had a cheque” J

Male Bingo Winner Stays Calm

A forty eight year old male bingo player who was playing bingo with his wife at the Washington Gala Club in Tyne and Wear, remained “pretty calm” when he realized just how much money he had won in the National Bingo Game. Nevertheless he still went home more than ₤20 000 richer than when he started. Not bad going for a night out at the bingo is it, I mean just think about it, the night out at the bingo, lets’ speculate, costs about ₤30 and he came home with more than ₤20 000, that is one good return on investment.

The Online Bingo Revolution

The demand for the game came about due to the new gambling act that was introduced in the late 1960’s and many theatres, cinemas and dance halls were converted for the used of playing bingo. These large venues were being under utilized at the time due to the advent of a technological revolution called television.

It’s a Bingo for George

A twenty one year old man, George Carter didn’t know what had hit him when he won more than ₤21 000 while playing bingo for only the third time in two years. He said he was quite simply, “speechless”, and he still can’t quite believe his luck. George was playing bingo with three friends at the Gala Club in Basingstoke Leisure Park when good fortune struck. He won ₤20 000 on the national Bingo prize, ₤1 004 on the Regional and a house prize of ₤120.

Bet you can’t guess where the far away land was? You got it, Japan. Video bingo was available in Japan as early as 1993. Land-based Bingo Club Closures Affect the Elderly

Many land-based bingo clubs in the UK have been forced into closure due to the double taxation enforced by the Government, actually, forty-three in the last fourteen months, and it appears as though this trend is going to continue into the future. We already know that the Government has no intention of rectifying the problem, and have even increased the tax burden of land-based bingo clubs.
