I must admit that I was surprised to hear that developers are even considering making mobile bingo available to cell phone users. I, being the technophobe that I am had visions of a person driving through the country roads of the British Isles, whilst at the same time playing online bingo with a mobile phone and causing a death trap for other road users. But fortunately this is not yet to be.
According to the outcome of the 2nd Online Bingo Summit, held late last year, there is great enthusiasm for providing bingo games to cell phone users, but several more daunting obstacles that have to be overcome before anything like this could ever take place (sigh of relief!).
It apparently soon became quite clear that because of the different range of screen sizes, handsets, OS and data transfer methods, any bingo product that even vaguely resembled the bingo version that is being seen online at present is virtually impossible, or certainly a long way off from being developed. Apparently one answer would be to integrate the systems, in other words, purchase your tickets and play bingo online but still be able to receive your results from a cell phone. I suppose this would work if you had prepaid bingo games on auto-play. But as I said previously, any development in this regard is still a long way off.
