Carl Leffler, original inventor of over 6000 bingo cards, is said to have gone insane as soon as he completed his work!
The famous mathematician was hired by a New York businessman who originally learned the game of Bingo when it was still called “bean-o.” The start of bingo as we know it was actually a game played with beans, that was used as a way to promote charities and generate financial support.
Sadly though, for some, bingo has become a source to express an addiction. It is great to indulge in the great social aspects of playing bingo. There are all sorts of celebrities and athletes that are proudly showing the fun the have with the game. The likes of the Manchester City football team, all the way through to Mariah Carey of the United States have all become well known in the social arena of Bingo.
However, do keep in mind some signs that your bingo playing does not get you going overly bonkers. First, does it interrupt any major part of your life, such as keep you from going out of the house or having meals because you are busy playing? If this happens, even once, you may have begun a problematic habit.
Next, be sure that you are still able to pursue social interaction in the same ways as you have always done. Participating in the chatting whilst playing does not complete your need for friendship.
Finally, are your finances being harmed by your game playing? If you realize you are allowing yourself to overspend your limit, you may be developing a negative habit.
Be sure to access one of the many sources for help available online and in your community. Work to change your habit before it takes you over.
