Cotswolds mother of two Dawn Cowely from Moreton is organising a bingo evening that she will dedicate to the memory of her father who passed away five years ago, well known Moreton resident., Nocky Churchill.
The prize bingo night proceeds will be donated to the Prostate Cancer charity as well as the Children’s Hospital Oxford, where Dawns son is under their care. This bingo evening is probably going to be rather an emotional time for Dawn.
This bingo night is the third time that Dawn has organised fund raising bingo nights for Prostate Cancer charity and she has already raised as much as £2000 that has been donated to Prostate Cancer, at the bingo night on 21st December she is hoping to raise at least another £1000 and this amount will be split between the two charities she has chosen.
Dawn says that even though her father died from prostate cancer she feels that it receives too low a profile, simply because it is a male problem and she would like there to be more of an awareness of the illness. It seems that bingo creeps into every aspect of people’s lives, it is such a simple game, but the ways that it can be used to help the human condition, changes people’s lives is quite dramatically.
