A Pimbo Haulage firm, Messenger Express, managed by colleagues Paul Sammons and Chris Halsall, recently organised a bingo night to raise funds to contribute Christmas presents to children in their local communities.
The main prize for the bingo fundraiser was an Xbox 360, and the aim of the bingo night was to collect enough funds to supply 133 Christmas presents to deserving children from the Skelmersdale and Up Holland Family Groups.
The bingo night was not the only event that made the 133 Christmas presents come to light for these deserving children, the managers also made a cash donation to make sure that the children got their Christmas party and presents.
The wonderful thing about bingo is that it is such a widely recognised community activity, everyone will get involved in raising funds through bingo for worthy causes, and this small effort by two men has put smiles on the faces of 133 children who might not have otherwise even received a Christmas gift. I have always maintained that bingo players are the most generous of people and more stories come to light every day that breathes life into this theory.
